Play Equipment

Indoor play equipment is very much similar to the outdoor play equipment with subtle differences being, that they are smaller in size when compared to outdoor play equipment,

are more modular and softer too. Indoor play equipment adds creative play and interactive fun to the various day care centers, preschools, places of worship, stores, restaurants and even at homes. The various types of indoor play equipment are basically designed to help the children develop imagination along with the concepts of sharing, cooperation, coordination, etc. Hence, they are available for different age groups and focus on different types of skills.

Few of the various indoor play equipments available in the market are the floor mats, obstacle courses, jungle gym, inflatable bouncy castles, etc. Floor mats serve a wide variety of purposes, right from helping the children recognize and learn alphabets and numbers, they contain different types of puzzles, mazes or games printed on them. These are usually available in plastic, rubber or carpeted and are usually dyed or woven to reflect various things on them. For instance, they can have race track printed on them on which small felt cars can be raced or they can have tic tac toe game printed on them and children can play on them. These are the best option that can be used in a preschool or a daycare center, since a single mat can be used to engage many children at a time.

The other interesting indoor play equipment type is the obstacle course, which not only keeps the kids engaged but also improves their creativity skills along with physical fitness. Usually, an obstacle course contains different elements which can be used separately or can be used in an interesting way to keep the children engaged. For instance, a typical obstacle course can contain a small slide down ramp, a rope wall that needs to be climbed, a beam, on which the children need to balance, monkey bars, on which the children have to pull themselves, a fire fighter’s pole, on which they can slide, etc. These are sure to keep the children involved and engaged and are a good source to improve their physical fitness too. The only thing of concern is that, a lot of space is needed to set up a challenging obstacle course, for small space homes, this might not be an ideal choice.

Inflatable bouncy structures such as the castles are kids favorite. They are generally inflatable rooms or platforms which let the children bounce, tumble and jump without any fear of falling or getting hurt by striking against a hard floor. They are available in various shapes such as spacecrafts, castles, etc. These can be easily set up in the backyard or in the house and can be a great setup for a kids party.

For families with a big basement or a big backyard, indoor play equipment just gives them a chance of connecting with their kids and spending quality time along with them.
